The highest perched restaurant
The Restaurant of the Basilique Notre-Dame de la Garde is a committed and inclusive catering concept. As the heir to a long tradition of hospitality, the Basilica is reaffirming this tradition with a friendly, hospitable place for everyone and every taste.
CREATING SOCIAL LINKS
At the "Restaurant de la Bonne Mère", exchange is a leitmotif, sharing a postulate and inclusion a driving force.
In this new convivial space, the tradition of hospitality bubbles with enthusiasm, and continues with its original definition: sharing one's "home". This is why the Restaurant is a place of welcome that creates social links. Reflecting Marseille and the Mediterranean, where multiculturalism is an asset, the sanctuary's new restaurant brings people together, making social diversity its core asset. Pilgrims, families, visitors from all walks of life, the vulnerable: the Restaurant brings people together and breaks down isolation by putting sharing at the center of the table... or when fine cuisine brings people together in the same place.

RESTAURANT VALUES
Authentic recipes, eco-responsibility and solidarity
The Restaurant de la Basilique raises the banner of taste. Taste is Provence, homemade food, generous family cooking, grandma's recipes that we cherish like Proust's madeleines.
The Restaurant of the Basilique Notre Dame de la Garde is a family-run, socially responsible restaurant that perpetuates the heritage of goodness by looking after the well-being of people and the Earth.
MEDITERRANEAN-INFLUENCED CUISINE FOR SHARING
A diversity of colors and flavors in short circuits
It smells deliciously homemade, stewed, simmered and stewed!
Backstage at the Restaurant, we chop, we mince, we chop, in short, we cook with our hands and our hearts. A traditional French gastronomy with a southern flavour, we don't shy away from a happy mix of styles. Our freshly prepared recipes are like gourmet souvenirs.
Authenticity is in the air ! A few herbs from the garden, a dash of olive oil, sun-kissed vegetables: the Restaurant is all about creativity, local produce and gourmet delights. An advocate of short circuits and committed to eco-responsibility, she buys from local producers and always lets the season set the tone... so much so that the menu takes a decidedly gourmet approach.

L'EPICERIE OF THE RESTAURANT
The Restaurant also offers a range of delicatessen products, in collaboration with the Association de l'Artisanat Monastique, which has been promoting and supporting monastic work in France since 1951. Monastic craftsmanship is the fine workmanship of monasteries, the time and care that monks and nuns put into their work. It's nature, well-being and a taste for good things.
More than 200 communities in France produce a wide variety of products, including jams cooked in cauldrons, organic wines, cookies, etc. Through Epicerie of the Restaurant, we are promoting a virtuous economy that financially supports monastic craft projects and, in turn, contributes to the life of monasteries. This collaboration between the Association de l'Artisanat Monastique and the Epicerie of the Restaurant works directly with the Artisanat Monastique boutique in Marseille, on a range of food products only.
THE NOTRE DAME DE LA GARDE BASILICA RESTAURANT PROJECT
The Restaurant of Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde project lays the foundations for a new equation based on collective benevolence.
Operational benevolence by putting know-how, heart and skills at the service of the Sanctuary's economy
Benevolence towards people through :
- An inclusive model that caters to all and welcomes differences
- A mutually supportive concept that uses work as a lever for integration and personal fulfillment
Caring for the Earth and the environment through a sustainable, eco-responsible approach
An economic and social approach inseparable from an ecological approach that puts authenticity, sharing and fraternity back at the center of its concerns, in line with Pope Francis' Laudato Si.
