OUR COMMITMENTS

"At the origin of this sanctuary, a man whose first name, the letter P, has been called Pierre. The humble patriarch was a prayerful and hard-working man, with no ambition other than to build a chapel to be closer to heaven, breathe the divine air, work with his hands and reap the rewards. As a hermit, he put into practice the motto of the monks of the West, "ora et labora": pray and work. No doubt he would also welcome people to join him in prayer. In any case, pilgrimages will soon be climbing to the top of this hill.

In keeping with the origins and history of the "Good Mother", the restaurant at Notre-Dame de la Garde is a place of daily work. It showcases the talents of each and every man and woman in its service. It's a place to welcome pilgrims and visitors, preparing or prolonging the peace and joy given here in prayer and meditation, and enhanced by the beauty of the setting. The restaurant's noble yet simple decor is a plunge into the history of the Basilica, while at the same time raising awareness of the richness of our Mediterranean culture. By enjoying a convivial moment, alone, with family or friends, you are also financially supporting this sanctuary, essential to so many people and a proud symbol of our town. The presence of Monastic Crafts is significant, bringing us closer to the monks and nuns who carry our world through prayer. There's a lot of love in their good products. So welcome! Come in, let yourself be welcomed and surprised! Leave your body and heart nourished by beauty and goodness. "

A SOCIAL PROJECT BASED ON SOLIDARITY

  • Opening up jobs to disabled workers: the Restaurant is working with theUNAPEI-APan association of parents of intellectually and cognitively disabled children, to open up as many positions as possible to ESAT workers, who are often far from employment or at odds with the company, to help them regain confidence and self-esteem.

  • To become a benchmark for training and sustainable integration through employment. Thanks to the creation of a support network, we are opening the Restaurant to associations and public bodies such as Pôle Emploi to host internships and support training. This methodology of integration through employment promotes psychological reconstruction, removes psycho-social-economic obstacles and stimulates skills development through the discovery of catering professions. In this way, the Restaurant aims to rekindle desire and create vocations by giving everyone the legitimate ambition to go further.

  • Welcoming apprenticeship contracts from public and private establishments into our workforce.

  • Continuing the tradition of hospitality to people in difficulty.

  • Support local charities.
